Why does investing feel so complicated when it doesn't have to be? Back in 2019, we sat in a Dublin café watching people struggle with investment platforms that seemed designed to confuse rather than help.
That conversation changed everything. We decided to build something different—a place where beginners could learn to invest without feeling overwhelmed or out of their depth.
How We Got Here
Most investment education feels like it was written for people who already understand investing. And that never made sense to us.
We started Sryze Tlaxe because we'd both been those confused beginners once. Fionnuala spent years working in financial planning, watching clients nod along while clearly having no idea what she was talking about. Colm came from adult education and kept hearing the same complaint: "I want to invest, but I don't know where to start."
So we combined those perspectives. We built courses that actually explain things in plain language. No jargon unless we define it first. No assumptions about what you already know.
The response surprised us. People told us they finally understood concepts they'd been pretending to grasp for years. That feedback keeps us going.

Clear Language Matters
If we can't explain something simply, we don't understand it well enough ourselves. Financial concepts aren't inherently complicated—they've just been explained badly for too long.
Questions Are Welcome
There's no such thing as a stupid question when you're learning. We'd rather answer the same question fifty times than have someone invest money they don't understand.
Realistic Expectations
Investing isn't magic. It's a long-term strategy that requires patience and discipline. Anyone promising quick riches is lying to you, and we won't do that.
